Farewell...

Well I guess it's nearly time to say farewell;-( Tomorrow is the last class during which we'll be all together (reading with John). Remember the "sru the window", "put it away"? Remember the "baseball match", "jewish festivities and lunch at the hotel Polonez", "Hajduczek" or recently "frisbee out"? Hope you do cause I will... and those will be the best memories ever.

So many exams that we took and actually passed;-), so many lectures on which we were unconscious or in a catatonic mood(you know it best John;-)). Oh, nearly forgot our French classes, "du jambon" - that is probably the only thing I will be able to order at a french restaurant;-). There were also the trips all way down to Różany potok to the "Pływalnia Uniwersytecka" (Panie Michale! Nożycujemy, nożycujemy!) BTW remember the shopping cart on the tram station near Tesco - lots of fun sliding in it along the station and nobody even called the police;-)

I don't wanna plagiarize Mike Pikooza's post (no one writes better than you do)! The post was just meant to bring back some memories. Therefore, (hope I used the marker correctly) I'll paste a couple of pictures (hope that you don't mind). Thanks for being together...;-)

"The alchemist of our dreams"

The Brazilian author PAULO COELHO was born in 1947 in the city of Rio de Janeiro. Before dedicating his life completely to literature, he worked as theatre director and actor, lyricist and journalist.
His fascination with the spiritual quest dates back to his hippie days, when he travelled the world learning about secret societies, oriental religions, etc.
In 1988, COELHO published The Alchemist. Slow initial sales convinced his first publisher to drop the novel, but it went on to become one of the best selling Brazilian books of all time(20 million copies sold worldwide!).
The Alchemist is a transforming novel about the essential wisdom of listening to our hearts, learning to read the omens strewn along life's path and above all following our dreams.
"When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it".

Amen.

"Future is not set"

I'm not a person who plans everything in adavance (my girlfriend does it for me;-)). But seriously, I really do not know my future... In every day life I try to adjust to various situations which life sends upon me. In my opinion, this "task" should be postponed at least until the end of the academic year. Of course, I have dreams like everyone does. No offense but this "task" could be renamed to "dreams of your future", then it would be easier... Don't you agree guys?
Future is like a dark highway, you never know where it's gonna lead you...

Wind of change

This is history, this is change, this is BARRACK HUSSEIN OBAMA!!! The 44th President of the United States of America. I'm proud of him even though I'm not an American citizen. In my opinion the most suitable commentary to the whole event would be the song performed by The Scorpions-"Wind of change"...

Teaching practice

When I came to college 2,5 years ago I thought that teaching was be my dream job. Unfortunately, things have changed. Well, the situation looks like this: whem I go to my school and teach everything is ok, I enjoy it very much but when I come back to KJO suddenly this excitement goes away. Why? Because KJO kills our creativity; everything, if not followed by some strict rules, is wrong. I say, let us get the experience and tell what does and what doesn't work for us in terms of teaching. I don't wanna say that introduction-lead in-1st,2nd readin' listenin' etc. is something bad but do we always have to stick to it? I wonder when was the last time when a kjo teacher conducted lessons in junior high? LOL;-) That's enough cause I don't want to be ostrcized...
Summing up, I like this profession but there are times when you have enough because of the whole red tape.
Here is a sample of what students can do. I found it on YOU TUBE;-)Get a load of that! BTW I wonder how would you deal with the problem (after having 3 years of methodology)?
